A good find, but this will never see the light of day in the MSM.

Looks like the dependence crowd never jolted the folks to take action ahead of time. 'Nother broken promise?

Well, well...the Times Picayune has a very short memory doesn't it? Of is it just that it hates GW Bush so much more than it cares about its own integrity? That's a lot of hate.

at least they could have told the residents to go steal those school buses, since the city planned on leaving them there to flood anyway.

Nice literary turn! Orwell would have been pleased.
The sad part is, we are already seeing Orweilian language and syntax being used by the mainstream media, if not overtly, certainly in the insinuative sense. For exampple:
HATE SPEECH and conservativism? THOUGHT CRIME.
Democrats in "charge"? DOUBLE-PLUS GOOD!
They charge Republicans with being "fascists", but THEY'RE the ones who want total control, THEY'RE the ones who WORSHIP THE STATE and all it stands for. They're the ones who disrespect the individual person (abortion) and only see someone in terms of their place in the "collective". So the only "rights" a person has are the ones 9 liberal members of a Supreme Court "gives them" (and can take away). THEY'RE the TOTALITARIANS !

"In scripted appearances being recorded now, officials such as Mayor Ray Nagin, local Red Cross Executive Director Kay Wilkins and City Council President Oliver Thomas drive home the word that the city does not have the resources to move out of harm's way an estimated 134,000 people without transportation." Even the French army once had the intelligence to commandeer transportation...

When is the
Toilet-Paper going to ask Mayor "Ran to Baton Rouge" Navin why he forgot to evacuate the poor with his city buses?
Here's the southeast Louisiana evac plan supplement, most recently revised in 2000. Go to page 13, read paragraph 5. It states:
5. The primary means of hurricane evacuation will be personal vehicles. School and municipal buses, government-owned vehicles and vehicles provided by volunteer agencies may be used to provide transportation for individuals who lack transportation and require assistance in evacuating.
