Hi---friend, I have been hanging out a lot on the LIVE Katrina thread...mostly lurking, but sometimes posting.
For a few days, tensions were so high, that some arguements broke out on the thread, so I pretty much lurked...
I hope you and your family are okay...aren't you glad you don't live closer to the coast???
Am I ever glad. We are fine here. The traffic in such a small town as this is horrible. Listen at me bitchin' about traffic. I'm truly sorry for that comment. Most have lost everything they had and some lost their lives and I'm complaining about traffic.
There but by the Grace of God, go I.
We were very lucky.
When I was a little girl, my family lived in Lake Charles. When a hurricane was headed our way we used to pile in the car and go to our grandparents home. Well, I live in the same town as our grandparents now, it's the town I was born in. We were always safe up here.
I haven't been on any Katrina numbered threads, at least I don't think I have.
