Guennie when you pick a CJ age is a big factor..Scalia would be CJ for 20 years...Roberts may well be CJ for 30.

This is a good move....it's the next one...that will be difficult.

scalia is 70. it's unlikely he'll be cj for 20 yrs, that'd mean he'd stick around till he's 90. considering rehnquist was 80, the more likely scenario has scalia as cj for around 10 yrs. roberts would be for 25-30 yrs. plus, perhaps scalia didn't want to go through a 2nd hearing.
