Things are still crazy, but we are making progress. Did any of you see Gen Honore in his news conference today? Now you know why people love this man.
The 82nd Airborne is still doing the house to house searches, and this will take a long time. They are finding the dead, and we are working to treat them with the dignity they deserve.
There are so many heroes in this operation, and I ain't one of them. The real heroes are the folks in New Orleans and in Mississippi. As Lt Gen Honore said today, Mississippi yesterday and today, there is swath of destruction 3 to 2 1/2 miles inland, and had not New Orleans flooded, MS would be the center of attention.
There are now 30,000 National Guard and 10,000 active duty in MS and LA. The military is now fully mobilized. So much to do though.
God bless.
Roger, out!
I owe you an apology, should have read the rest of the thread before I jumped the gun and replied to you. Take care, stay safe and God bless.
No prob. Hang in there. You and all those down there are in our prayers.
