Los Angeles County is refusing to take evacuees.

Can you post a source document for this please?

I hadn't heard that. I almost don't blame them, though. As uncharitable as it may sound, it is a complete cesspool there, too, and their services are probably already overloaded. The people from NO are just as well. They would have a hard time getting on their feet there- with the cost of housing and everything else. I think it's beneficial for them to be in real communities, especially those with a strong Christian presence. No chance of that in L.A.

It may be based on quotes such as these in the LATimes:

"While Houston and other cities have taken in tens of thousands of refugees, Los Angeles officials were divided over the role the city should play in housing them, given that its 10,000 homeless shelter beds are nearly full most nights.
"We're in the process of looking at what housing we may have. As we all know, it's very limited," Villaraigosa said. "
"We would not be able to accommodate a giant influx,"
