Wasn't it just today the FEMA director said that he was on the phone with NO officials and they never told him there were 25,000 people in one of the convention centers? It was a place that wasn't designated a shelter but people forced their way into it.
I've never seen such ineptitude in my entire life. Ever.

Drudge had an interview from Sunday night before the storm where Nagin is asked point-blank whether or not any other shelters were being designated and he said - NO. The reporter specifically asked about the conv center and the airport. In addition, he spent several mins stating that they had registered 25k at the center (which we know was more like 6k before the flood) and that they had made great headway getting everyone that wanted to be at the superdome transportation. Bald face liar.
