I had heard that some sheriffs on the Gulf coast were going door to door to get folks out. If they refused, they were given toe tags.

I too saw some rescuers even today in NO going door to door trying to convince people to get out.
Well, all I can say is the author of that NYT article will probably himself have to find a new job one of these days. It's not up -- I mean down -- to the standards of the Old York Times.
