I just found this FR thread in regard to the 1996 election of LA Democrat Mary Landrieu for the Senate. It's easy reading. The first 5 or 6 very short paragraphs are a MUST read! I didn't even need to read the rest. Now we know how she was elected!

One woman, who said she voted three times, groused about how much she was paid. "I was supposed to get $75 and all they gave me was $25." She said they also gave her an "ol' stanky T-shirt" with Landrieu's picture on it.
Well, I don't like stealing of elections, but that's just plain funny.
It is rather amazing isn't it...that NONE of the evening talk shows have even brought up Landrieu's threat to Bush in any significant way...
Brit made a joking aside about it, but not a discussion.
