I was led to understand that is was used as a floating hotel being retrofitted for PEMEX.
I've been on some of those platforms but mostly West of New Orleans.
Used to helicopter out of Morgan City but that was many years ago.

You may be correct. I don't recall seeing a derrick on it. But it was definitely a semi-sub.
