If the plan wasn't 'tested' then they would never know where the faults are.
Can you post the url for the levee boards???
Googling levee board new orleans turns up some really weird things, as well.
Levin is taking no prisoners, he's been reading our analysis here for sure, making alot of our points.
Did you hear and see that young man who came from another Walgreens? Wow.
Correction - they ended up saving neither.
I don't know where or what they are to do with it, but some scientists are on their way there to start testing the water tomorrow and help figure out what they can do with it.
I think Blanco knows she's in really deep doo doo. The Clintons showing up down there to grandstand, and Blanco who has all but hidden every day, fuel my suspicions.
My husband is based at NAS Belle Chasse just south of New Orleans. Everyone working and living aboard the NAS was evacuated out on Saturday. Every single person. Aircraft were flown to outlying areas, too. This is not local government; it's federal gov't executing an excellent evacuation. Given that it was built at sea level or slightly above, it wasn't affected by severe flooding, however the flooding on the local roads off-base are a large part of the reason the NAS isn't up and running right now.
Kep working on it. Maybe the powers that be will see reason before it's too late.
Man...
Wish I could email that story.
Wal Mart is doing the same thing with their employees...and offering to hire all kinds of people
Greta is on with Brit now, giving glowing report about Harris county..at the Astrodome...saying they have been incredibly good to the hurricane people...
Feds sued the levee board in 1998 over the issue.
I was thinking they could have brought in a 400 foot ship and sunk it next to the breach, repaired the dike, then refloated the ship.
There's not much they *can* do about it. It's getting pumped back out into the lake or out into the river, period.
Wouldn't eat Gulf seafood for a while...
Walmart is donating 20 some million...and offering a job to any Walmart employee who has to relocate anywhere in the country..
How many cubic feet of water do you think ended up in NOLA? Some math: If the flooded area is the size of Washington DC it is 1/8th the size of Lake Ponchartrain.
So 8 ft of water pumped out is only a rise of 1 foot in the Lake. I think there is less water than that in the city. I think that emergency repair will hold.

What Gibson said at the end of his show made sense... he said obviously Mike Brown didn't have a televison set in his office or he would have know what all of us knew... just as during the last riots in Los Angeles while us viewers were on the edge of our seats watching what was happening, for days the LA police department was behind the gangsters because the LAPD didn't have televison to see what we were all seeing on the ground.
It is my understanding that they have had trial runs wwith evacuation in NOLA. However, in this real situation, not deploying the buses was an ecomonic decision to save the buses. This resulted in death of many people. Someone made this decision, and someone will be held accountable.
Now there's an idea. Let's have FEMA respond to lying and exaggerated news reports. No thanks.
The press is as corrupt as the democrats.
