Didn't stop the Jazz from moving there. :)
They'll just cheat...
WTF?
Remember this: Jamie Witt, the ex-FEMA head and current Blanco Dubois CYA agent, just said that the 10,000 number is way off; it won't be more than 6,000.
At least we could count on Kelly to keep his head. I don't know who pulled Shep, but my eternal gratitude. It's been nice to have some sane people on the scene.
I wonder if ANY of the nighttime talk shows will show the pictures of the flooded school buses...
They cannot do a "fair and balanced" story about "what went wrong" unless they do.
If Bill Clinton were President right now and the exact same thing happened, the MSM would be praising him for his leadership and all the efforts.
Everybody here knows that is true. But if Bill Clinton were President right now and the same thing happened, NEWT GINGRICH would be praising him for his leadership and all the efforts too.
What did the poll this morning say?
There is your real "two Americas."
I missed this.....yes. I heard from her a couple of days ago. Aside from some minor damage, along with no electricity for awhile...they did fine.
They have a generator that they were using only for the fridge & freezer, I think.
I have NOT heard from her since. I asked her if she could contact her church and see if they have any relief efforts going on locally...cuz I was going to post it.
You're so sweet to remember them, and Txs...THANKS for the ping!
It's not a happy or comfortable place to be, but that's the way it is.
Lesson of NOLA (for those who are s-l-o-w learners and didn't catch the message before) - be prepared, don't let yourself be in the position of relying on the government. Any government. They try, but they are more interested in power than in the well-being of constituents.
?? Where do you see that?
I understand that and meant no offence. It's just that THEY, the survivors cannot be allowed to make these decisions. They need to be set up somewhere, quickly, and then they can be asked..."how can I help you?". IMHO they need to be given time. That's all I meant.
did he mean 60,000?
"That sounds like a very scary novel....it doesn't sound like it could possibly be real.
I take back what I was was saying about the NOPD...the ones that stayed and didn't run away, deserve medals for what they have been through."
I hope it isn't true too, but it looks real. It's what novels say will happen after a nuclear holocaust - a complete breakdown in society and law. God help NO.
most people polled blamed the locals. the blame/not-to-blame number for Bush regarding Katrina was 55/45 if I recall correctly.
Well, thank you both so much for trying to make sure that the accurate news gets out. I've never seen the media as bad as they are right now. Ever.
I actually saw Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC on Friday say the president did nothing to prepare for the hurricane.
#1. He declared LA a state of emergency.
#2. That permitted FEMA to pre-position assets as close to the predicted affected area which was still probably pretty far away given the storm's depth.
#3. He called the mayor and Governor and pressed them to order a mandatory evacuation of NO.
#4. He ordered the military to turn assets around and head toward the Gulf.
I'm sure freepers can add to the list. But that doesn't sound like "nothing" to me. I hate the media. Every last one of them.
