To: one more state

Let's set this straight now that we've seen the Governor's State of Emergency Proclamation at http://gov.louisiana.gov/Press_Release_detail.asp?id=973 and discredited the article posted, but there's still so much more fun to find on the Office of the Governor's website and this thread should remain.

IE: The below Executive Order interesting too. "Now where did I put those busses? Better say something before those FReepers give some damn fool pictures to Drudge."

Please make sense of what you posted..It is a bit muddled.

Are we on the same page, isn't it true that the Governor's executive order to use buses for the evacuation was given after the storm on Sept 1st Thursday... Two days after the levees burst and many days after the mandatory evacuation was called before the storm ever made landfall?

Talk about late compliance with the states disaster plan...

Blanco, the Landrieus and the Mayor won't get out of this thing politically alive...

Am I wrong or is she demanding/requiring a higher standard of assistance from out-of-state medical personnel than the standard of governance she was unable to supply to her own constituents?

If so, she, and her flacks, do not do "chutzpah" well...

Executive Order NO. KBB 2005- 26- Declares a state of public health emergency to allow licensed medical professionals and personnel in other states to provide assistance in Louisiana.

This is indeed an interesting one, since up here in the Seattle area, there have been Northwest Medical Teams packed and ready to go to LA since before the storm, yet the doctor who was heading the team couldn't go until he was "authorized" to provide assistance in LA. The leftist teevee snooze programs up here downplayed this a lot, but that info snuck through a couple of times on the "local human interest" stories. The reporters were trying to do the big build up of the local teams [which is just fine- they deserve it for what they do], but a few sentences slipped through when they were talking about why the Team van with $200,000 worth of medical and household supplies was still sitting in Seattle instead of being on the way down to LA.

Of course, Gov. Blankmind wails and gnashes her teeth and cries that nobody's helping, but then you find out that she and her office of loser bureaucrats are what's causing the problem.

Just thought I'd add that in for those of you who are keeping score. And if this is happening in Seattle, doncha think it's happening all around the country?

Just like the caravan of 100 boats and volunteers that were driven down to LA from out-of-state (!!?) to assist and were turned away by a junior deputy LA Wildlife dept. agent.

Cripes! Ya got thousands of people trying to help, you're turning them away or not allowing them to come, and yet yer cryin' yer eyes out of teevee that somebody needs to come and help ya. What a bunch of maroons!
