I've not read all of the posts so forgive me if this has been asked.
What was the response after she said that, and what happened when she cried. Did she get hugs from everyone there? What a manipulator
The time is important, and the time is clear - the request (or offer) by the Feds to take control of the evacuation and relief effort is a refence to Friday, Sept 2.
There was no evacuation effort until last Sunday, and it makes no sense to ask to be in control of what doesn't exist.
You'll see them again as Patriot's Choice raisins in a few weeks. I'm glad you are fine.
It is not a fact that the feds offered to consolidate control as of Friday before the storm. That offer came Friday after the storm.
Hummm where should we rebuild New Orleans?
THere's gonna be trouble in all these places that are being so helpful to the refugees right now. When the local welfare pimps and hos see all the goodies and attention going to the newbies, and see themselves getting LESS because of the new strain on the socialist wealth transfer/distribution system, there's gonna be trouble. Mark my words.
That may sound callous. Don't misunderstand. My heart is breaking for the victims, but my compassion for those innocent victims is combined with disgust and contempt...for the criminals who have not only looted, raped and murdered, but who have caused the deaths of who knows how many others by barring emergency personnel's access to victims; for the stupidity of those who stayed with the belief that government would save them; for the incompetence of those on the local and state level who played politics with these people's lives rather than have the humility to admit they were in over their heads and who are now placing blame everywhere but on themselves; for the MSM who continue to fail in reporting facts in a truthful and objective manner while getting in shots at the president with every sentence as if he was the one who arranged this storm and assured that the levees wouldn't hold; for the Hollywood crowd who take the opportunity to grandstand, yet again, in the wake of the suffering of others, as if their "magnanimous" gesture were essential to the cause; and for the everyday armchair democrat commentator that can't even say "those poor people; what a tragedy" without adding "if Bush wasn't ......(fill in the blank)."
Meanwhile, out in the streets and communities, there are churches, municipalities, private enterprises and ordinary citizens quietly combing their closets and pantries, opening their homes, their hearts and their checkbooks, volunteering their time and resources in an effort to, in some small way, relieve the suffering of their fellow man, shedding tears all the while over this incomprehensible human catastrophe.
It isn't too hard to tell where people's priorities are.
But the point is she refused and thus the slow response continued.
They can barely keep the peace under normal conditions. Wonder why they didn't have emergency supplies or a roof that would hold on the superdome? Hmmmm? Money went in somebody's pocket, that's why.
ROTFLMAO Where was the mayor? Crackpipe?? Drinking?? How bout the governor? Was he looting Saks Fifth Avenue??. I would not spend a dime to rebuild this city.
She still hasn't ceded control and command to the feds, yet lots is happening even though her command and control is ineffective.
Anyway, I was aiming to have the "8 points summary" or whatever is being built and maintained on that other thread is accurate - the difference of when the offer was extended and rejected is VERY important.
It would have been reasonable for her to reject that offer a week ago, becuase the state may well have been able to handle the disaster. That position is much harder to maintain as of Sept 2nd, after it was clear there was an extended period of civil unrest and the state authorities had shown inability to command and control relief and rescue.
The Louisiana dems are scared to death this stuff is going to stick to their shoes and are desperately trying to shift the blame...won't work...God only knows how many of their constituents are floating in their attics.
She is a power slut. Perhaps I should have said that. I kinda read the headline and posted real fast. I couldn't believe a Senator would have said that.
This woman needs to be put in handcuffs...
Louisiana in general, and New Orleans in particular, should be subjects of better government. How the people came to be ruled by women and weenies is difficult to tell. Perhaps through graft and corruption. If this part of the United States is to be properly governed, then a change is needed. It is painfully apparent that men who rule judiciously and with strong authority should take the helm in this critical geographical region. Meanwhile it will be ordinary citizens who do the most and the best work, as always.
