Read the article linked on Post 13 of this thread. The truth is getting out. They blindsided us because we all thought this would be non political while everyone focused on the rescue. So like every sucker punch, it worked at 1st but it is all ready starting to fall apart when their own party organ The Washington Post is reporting this stuff. Chertoff is doing great work today. This is the problem Bush has had all along. He has no PROXIES because the people who are SUPPOSE to be helping get out his message spend most of their time sniping at him. THIS attack, however, forces Repbs to actually get up and DEFEND their polices. The Left is not attacking just Bush. They are attacking the whole Conservative idea of limited Govt. The Dems and their lap dog media HONESTLY thing this will let them take us all the way back to LBJ and the Great Society. Allow them to roll back 40 years of Conservative progress. So instead of screaming "Why doesn't Bush fight back" Conservatives BETTER be asking themselves WHAT AM I doing to fight back this assaults. Not enough to just whine about OUR side. People actually have to help us ATTACK the other side.

You know, there is a parallel here. The rescuers working in NOLA didn't expect the affected residents to take pot shots (literally, shooting / "sniping") at them. And the federal relief assistance apparatus didn't expect the Lousiana relief assistance apparatus to snipe at it - but it is.

Amen. I've got a copy of the posse comitatus act printed out, and I'm trying to archive every thing I can get my hands on, about how our local governmental bodies are supposed to take the lead in disaster efforts.

In the coming days, people are going to be trying to pin this on the Bush administration, and there is nothing like having the facts at hand to refute their fallacies.
