Question for my education:

Hearing all about the fleet of busses, turned submarines by the flooding: were the interstates jammed with evacuees up until the 175 mph winds hit? If yes, this would leave little room for a fleet of busses to make their departure. On the other hand, if the interstate traffic petered down to a few stragglers prior to the full brunt of the storm, its all the more damning for the mayor.

Well for your education it is "buses" and President Bush told him to start the evacuation well before the hurricane hit land.
