Agree that Shepard Smith has been anything but a "consummate professional". Self-righteous is more like it. Placing unrealistic expectations on the tireless rescuers.

He just doesn't like being stuck down there without make up. Until things settle down, he doesn't get out of there. Shep seems to be more concerned about Shep, and it shows.
