The MSM will repeat this mantra ad infinitum to build a drumbeat against the federal government of GWB. This will have to be countered with unparallelled force to point out that the failure was the lack of evacuation, the freeing of prisoners, the concentrating in the Superdome with no police force to keep order, the lack of the National Guard, the failure of communications for the police, the lack of disaster planning, and the unending list of major and minor failures of logistics and tactics.
ALL OF THESE ARE FAILURES OF THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL. Never let it be forgotten or subverted.

It was Bush that asked the Gov and Mayor to order a mandatory evacuation, NOT their idea at all.

Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco said that it was President Bush that had called and urged the state to order the evacuation.
