I wonder how long after the water is pumped out, the city is safe for life and habitable?

Great question. I know once they get rolling that a lot can be done in a short period of time, but my guess is 50% of the city will be a ghost town for more than 6 months.
What about all the mud and crud left over, where they going to dump it?
Is it for sure that the river side levees are holding?

What did Nagin and Blanco say after Bush made his statement at NO?
Did they stop blaming him or continue to do so?

It's New Orleans - "safe for life" is subjective.
