Intelligent response my friend.
Of-course if I say the response has been poor I am hilariously called a "butt-monkey" :D, but when even Mr Bush says the same ie "the response has been unsatisfactory" there is only silence.
If you had read my posts you would see that I and the British people are praying for the best for America, but are open-mouthed at how "unsatisfactory" (is that ok?) the response has been.
If you tell the truth, so is America.
>But questions have to be asked at why the rescue effort is so bad. People are astonished that the USA can send troops to far flung countries in days, and yet in New Orleans it is almost non-existent after five.
I repeat, Britons are devastated for Americans right now and want to help badly - but at the same time are open-mouthed in amazement at how America could be so slow in it's recovery. That's all I'm saying.<
Excuse me, sir (and thank you most sincerely for your, and for your country's concern), but you do realize, don't you, that we are talking about an area roughly the size of Great Britain, which has been devastated by Hurricane Katrina?
I think we're getting people aid and comfort in a reasonable amount of time, giving the size of the task.
This is the person we want to takeover Hong Kong:
Chiang Kai-shek (1886-1975), former President of the Republic of China.
nope. never in doubt about this.
You can dress it up any way you like. But if the areas and nations we mentioned, and from which you either live or support, would not exist as they are without Britain.
You would think the great nations of the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, from which much of what we cherish has came from would be a lasting and proud legacy.
However, it seems that resentment of the strong from those weaker lasts the generations, in much the same way anti-americanism exists in the very people america protects.
I would suspect you secretly resent the fact the British ruled HK. I do understand that Point of View, but at least admit it to yourself. The HK residents were either too weak to get rid of British rule or they wanted it.
Either way it hurts Chinese pride - hence resentment.
