Pray tell, DieselBoy, where are you from? This is not a "Deep South" problem, this is an urban, black problem. It is the same kind of looting that took place in Los Angeles after the Rodney King case. Is LA a Third World Country?
And for my bona fides, my family has been in Arkansas since the 1820s. I have also lived and worked in Third World countries. Citizens in Third World countries would give their eye teeth to live in the Deep South.
Ever been to Canton, Mississippi? It is hardly comparable to Ontario, California. Lots of shacks, burned out buildings. If large states like Ca, and TX are somewhat civilized then the poorest states in the union, the south, is on the oppisote end of the spectrum. Mass poverty in the places ive been to there and it isnt all urban.
There were plenty of urban blacks working downtown in New York on 9-11. Despite all the abandoned stores, there was no looting or rioting. This is a New Orleans problem, plain and simple.
