Moderates (read bigger libs than Dims) keep seeing to it that their star RINOs lose in primaries with conservatives, then they back the DemocRAT, whomever he or she is. I mean back with $$$$$ and voters (even non-existent or dead ones.)
I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with. I said there's not been a regular Republican elected Governor in 41 years. Graves was unquestionably a RINO. Joan Finney was the last remotely Conservative Governor (she was actually a disgruntled Republican who switched parties when the establishment refused to endorse her run against the abortionist Dr. Bill Roy back in the early '70s). Mike Hayden WORKS under Gov. Sebelius, so we know where his loyalties are. Carlin was more a centrist 'Rat, and he beat the semi-RINO Bob Bennett (who won because of liberal voters in '74 over the Conservative DINO Attorney-General Vern Miller). It is remarkable that while we seem to have almost no problems at the Federal level (with the one notable exception of the 3rd-Dennis Moore seat), it's been a disaster where the Governorship is concerned.
