"I can't believe that in hurricane country, the public isn't told how to be prepared. I live in earthquake country, and you can bet it's pounded into us. You know the routine--batteries, radio, meds, insurance papers, WATER and FOOD--and told to be prepared to not expect help for at least 72 hours... I'm starting to get mad..."

I live in RI and at the first report of a blizzard or a hurricane everyone , and I do mean EVERYONE, is at the local Stop & Shop getting milk, bread ,and batteries. It came in handy during the Blizzard of "78 when the state was literally shut down for a week.

You know why everybody buys milk, bread and eggs when it snows? I'm assuming they're all making french toast.
