Yes! Fellow from CHARITY NAVIGATOR said to be very careful about donations. Anyone can go to their website to see how well a charity manages its money (should be at least 75 cents to the dollar going to on-the-ground help vs administration).
Avoid telemarketers, no matter who they say they are; bogus & just trying to get your credit card numbers. He also said, no matter where you live, if you can, give blood because the nation's supplies as a whole will be needing more donations.
charitynavigator.org, fema.org, salvationarmyusa.org, and redcross.org were the four "orgs" mentioned.
Hope I got all those "orgs" right!
