Can that airport support 30,000 refugess and still continue to function?

Won't need to; they're just staging at the airport -- sounds like they're shipping them out of there as fast as they can. The medical cases are being airlifted out, those that are well are headed for buses out to Texas, Georgia and elsewhere.

My wife has had a time of it with people showing up on her doorstep the last couple of days (she's a director for Fulton Co. DFCS).

I hope you are right. They have been "staging" at the dome for extraction for days. Get that many refugees together and things go wrong.

Whatever happens, that airport is a vital link. Clog it up and things go south fast.

The inside of the New Orleans airport is a hospital...they set up a DART team in there to work on incoming refugees with health problems.
