The unfortunate thing about this situation is that NO did not have a plan. The mayor and the governor failed miserably.

The Federal government had to take over the operation when they saw that the mayor and governor had no plan and lost control of the situation.

This was too late. Now the Fed will do the work that NO and LA should have done.

The only thing I can fault the Federal government on is not knowing how incompetent the mayor and the governor are beforehand.

Good things will happen today but the President will continue to take the brunt of the criticism and the media will continue to show dead bodies in the street, people dying, looters and people with no food and water. They will continue to interview people who feel like the gov't owes something to them.

We are going to have a tough period in this nation. The recovery is going to be bad enough but I think we are going to have a divided nation over this and the liberals will exploit what is happening and not help.

The Dems were worried about their black voting bloc last election but after the media and the libs spin this, I don't think they will have to worry anymore.

I pray that things will turn around today and I pray that this will not create a more divided nation.

I hope people are praying for this nation, the refugees, our President, and the Federal Gov't. They all need it.

I don't know about the black vote thing.

A black man on a local radio station (in our area) was apologizing to the nation for the behavior of black thugs in NO.

He said it was a disgrace and embarrassment to the black community.

Scammers Hit Web In Katrina's Wake
Less than two days after the hurricane, Internet opportunists are already trying to cash in on public sympathy for Katrina's victims.

Web sites claiming to collect donations for Hurricane Katrina victims. Phony e-mails pretending to solicit money from well-known charities. Online auctions of Internet domain names with Katrina-related addresses, such as "katrinaourtsunami.com." Less than two days after the hurricane, Internet opportunists are already trying to cash in on public sympathy for Katrina's victims. Within the past 24 hours, several Web sites have emerged, promising to forward money to relief workers. Bearing such names as Katrinahelp.com, katrinadonations.com and katrinarelief.com, the sites ask for money to be sent through Paypal, but there is no way to verify who is getting the money.

Amen!

The President WILL take the blame for this.........the left is already making idiotic attacks (and some here on the right)........in spite of the fact that he PRECEDED the storm by declaring it a disaster, and setting up the opportunity for the state and city to move freely to protect their people, and has acted quickly and resolutely to do everything possible to provide aid.

Thanks for the reminder to pray for this nation.

AND PRAY FOR THE PRESIDENT'S SAFETY THIS MORNING!
