At 11:30 am, they announced the authority to commandeer and the opening of the refuge of last resort at the Superdome.

Did no one think to pick up the phone and order private portapotties delivered to the Superdome?

Send cops to wherever they're stored, cut the fence, load them up, park them inside, deploy them afterwards.

Why was there no generator for the Superdome? Just enough for emergency lighting and some signage to deliver info to the crowd.

The blood of the dead is on the hands of Nagin and the Governess, Mme Babineaux.

We are witnessing incompetence of enormous proportions in that state government.

I said on a previous thread, that this hurricaine possiblity has been talked about for over 50 years, now it has finally happened. It's notlike they haven't had time to prepare. I would hope that my representatives were prepared for any worst case scenario. There job is to serve and protect. They have done neither very well.

Port-o-lets require service after 110 uses.

30,000 people means 300 units...per day, with no repeat business.

I know I'm repeating myself, but the sheer scale of this disaster has yet to sink in for a lot of people.

It takes years to build up your home or apartment. You simply cannot pick up a million people and plant them elsewhere in a time span measured in days. Not even in weeks really, but this is precisely what FEMA is prepping to do.
