We had a freeper whose son was on the ground in NO on those boats trying to rescue people from roofs and was shot at.
We have freepers who think looters should be shot on sight (I fall into that category unless they are stealing food and water) and freepers who think it's just plain evil to shoot someone without having a trial (yes, that's just how it was written). LOL
We argue and agree and post news as it comes up on the main thread and try to determine if we're at a tipping point and when/if things will get better.
I'm sure others can give you a better flavor of what goes on here; we're just trying to get a handle on the worst disaster to hit the United States since the Civil War.
I can see there is a little anger here. It would be nice for FReepers to be civil to each other rather than being insulting. You know who you are. :)
I'm disappointed that help for these poor people did not get there sooner. Local and state officials should have had enough of an emergency game plan together to get help within 24 hours. Perhaps they didn't count on the violence, but they certainly should have expected it. They know their city.
From this, I suspect that every city will be working on new plans that will address what went wrong here. Everyone should have a plan for evacuation if they don't have money or a car.
It is unimaginable to think what would happen if a chemical, nuclear, or biological attack took place in one city or multiple cities. They really could take down the economy and cause a worldwide economic collapse.
