Is this the woman who said an MRE was uneatable?

No idea. But this is really opening my eyes to how soft we are as a people. Cut off the electricity and water for three days in one area of the country and we descend into chaos.

You people need to chill out. I saw this lady on TV that you are all trash talking and she was just a sweet talking, nice old lady about 85 years old who was just talking like any old grandmother...please. God help us.

This is why humanity is doomed to repeat its mistakes. Because when organized society takes it on the chin, the element that rises to the fore is that which takes civilization back thousands of years (i.e., the law of the jungle).

"Cut off the electricity and water for three days in one area of the country and we descend into chaos."

An article I read a few years back suggested families get in the habit of going one day without TV or computers at least once a week.

Have everyone, kids included, spend the day reading or doing outside activities. Even get out the checkerboard games. Play kick the can, etc.

They said Americans need to be prepared mentally, emotionally, etc. for what hardships we might need to endure if major emergencies happen -- coping without TV and computers for extended periods of time, maybe days or weeks.
