Just an observation--
Mrs. Bush was in her teacher mode when she said if you are busy today, there is always tomorrow. Which is why I called her Mrs. Bush.
I, a 51 year old woman, said to the TV, "Yes M'am". And I am in GA, LOL!

They have completely lost it.
There was a staffer behind the Mayor who looked like he was bored to tears. He appeared to think that everyone was over-reacting to the hurricane.
I've wondered since what happened to this "bored" man.
I have completely given up on them as well. I'll wait for others whose blood pressure can take it to report on what they are saying. I'm certain that whatever they say, it will just be more of the typical garbage.
And she remains...despite it all...calm, dignified and kind-hearted.
An example to us all.
Maybe they believed those initial news reports announcing that NOLA had dodged the bullet...
The White House team, which includes a fantastic First Lady, is doing a great job today. Mrs. Bush is thanking Lafayette, LA for their help to people of New Orleans (who have found a safe shelter in Lafayette) and asking people to volunteer.
At least the dogs weren't firing guns at their would-be rescuers! Let's not refer to the looters as "animals" any more...it's an insult to the dogs.

Thanks! I know I saw Poydrous Street in one video on Fox. From your map, the fire is a ways from the Quarter but those streets are narrow and the buildings are all close. I did see that they were getting water on the fire from one spot.

Me too. The First Lady's answers are ten times better than any of the drek given by the mayor of NOLA, the governor of LA, or either of the Landrieu's.
Mrs. Bush is doing an awesome job here.
