Good point. Get her out of office and evacuate her to the Superdome. Let the good people of New Orleans take care of her.

He won't get my vote, then. Not that I was going to anyway, but I always thought he was a "sensible" dem, if there is such a thing. I will not tolerate politicians pointing fingers WHILE THIS IS GOING ON. Junior is now on the list.

Working with Governor to deploy 600 of the newly arrived MP's to secure the site so food and medicine can get in there.
I was pretty sure he was talking about the convention center site as the target of those 600 MPs. Right?

Just some predictions....
Prediction #1: within the next 2 weeks Chertoff will be out as will Michael Brown.
2. Within the next week the MSM will take and tout a poll, trumped up as it may be, showing Bush's numbers lower than ever
3. The LA state and local officials will recieve virtually no blame from the MSM, but there will be a massive voter retaliation in 2006.
4. Bush's visit today will seem successful to those on the ground, the MSM will look for and find, footage of a victim complaining about the president. This footage will be shown more than footage of the president himself for the next few days.
5. Within 2 months a Dimocrat with alot of clout will begin impeachment hearings.
6. Bush will be fighting for his political survival for the next year, but the Republicans will pick up seats in 2006.
7. Bush's numbers will rise about two months before Nov 2006 on the basis of a largely recovered economy, a good deal of progress in rebuilding NO, and an increasingly robust economy

New Orleans is not optional for the United States' commercial infrastructure. It is a terrible place for a city to be located, but exactly the place where a city must exist. With that as a given, a city will return there because the alternatives are too devastating. The harvest is coming, and that means that the port will have to be opened soon. As in Iraq, premiums will be paid to people prepared to endure the hardships of working in New Orleans. But in the end, the city will return because it has to.
Now that's what I have been saying. NO has survived fire, flood, malaria, yellow fever, and lawlessness because it is needed.
But the old NO I grew up in is gone forever. And all the memories of riding the street car uptown on a March morning looking at the antebellum buildings filled with the pink of azaleas in bloom and that light quality that is special to the gulf coast will be locked in my heart.
But this new city will have a chance to learn from the past. I know it's Louisiana, but even there good things can happen!

Anger is good, crying is bad. Show some strength for Pete's sake. This kind of display is why the majority of Americans don't think a woman is suited to higher office.

What was it someone said last week--You know the day is going to bad when you wake up in the morning and find Jim Cantore and Geraldo Rivera in your back yard.

Thank you for that. Now I understand the "why's" of the military getting involved.

Hillary doesn't have emotions. Maybe that's it.Hillary has loathing for those who are not "of her station." She would have said "let them eat cake..."

I just can't stand weepy, "oh-woe-is-me", giving-up-too-easily women. Can't stand them. And I am a woman. I agree 100%!!! Woman here, too. I've been known to scream at the TV if the show has a lame, screaming bimbo who can't help herself on it.
This unfortunately is reality and we have a lame screaming bimbo as the Gov. of LA.

LOL and groan. Better him, though, than Jesse, who will no doubt come around to keep the pot stirred and the donations comin' in.

">End Rant"
Better say Uncle, Uncle Ike;)
I have been on NN's threads since "day 1" and don't read that in the majority of comments. I do hear posts of criticism of lack of prep on local gov't authorities - after all, there *only* 12 threads X 4000+/- posts each on each of them, but majority would not fit your conclusion.
PS Welcome to FR, and wear asbestos for a little while;)
My 2 cents

Disagree. She would have knocked on your door, taken your last paycheck, and given it to New Orleans. Income redistribution and all...Not saying she would lead well, just that she could emotionally handle it. This would piss her off and I wouldn't want to be in her way.
