Well, one thing we know for sure is that the lady appears to be many ages to many people (30, 50, 80). Anybody for the big 4-0, 60, 70 perhaps?
Check post 106 on the Katrina XII thread.
Now that is civil authority, personal level. Note the differences from looting -- in purpose, in execution. The bus was not his, he commandered it and helped people in a somewhat organized way, and when they could be lawful and buy things they did.
Congress hates to be upstaged.
I made a donation today to Noah's Wish. It sounds like a very good cause. God bless that group.
Major developments:
Gov. Blanco still acting and talking like a moonbat.
Police expecting another fight with the gangs tonight. 20% of cops have walked off the job.
Joe Scarborough going ballistic on Bush.
And in Aruba--the Dutch kid walks.
The liberal media is much more dangerous than any Category 5 hurricane.
"To: jeffers
Do you really think there are 150,000 people still in their flooded homes or clinging to rooftops? What is the basis for your estimate?
Not flaming--I just want to know the truth. So much is being hidden from the media and the general public."
Under the Hurricane Ivan mandatory evacuation, 600,000 got out, 600,000 stayed.
If the doomsday predictions scared enough that half of those who stayed for Ivan left, we're at 300K. The storm got some, some have died since, some have been exfiltrating on foot or by car, we got some out by bus, but in the end exact numbers are anyone's guess, and we may ever get an accurate count.
Hate to say it, but a lot of people are in for a rude awakening as they will only receive healthy meals instead of the junk most have only been able to afford. Junk food can become addicting and people will choose over good, healthy, food.
And many colors;)
You sound like you need a hug. (((HUG))) We're all tense and tired. Feeling helpless ect. It looks like snowball is going to be our 'poster dog' for the time being. I don't think you were being mean, just realistic.
I posted my post before I read yours. Great minds-----?
If that link has been posted - I surely missed the treasure trove of updates - thank you for this valuable info!
There is a simple solution for the pet problem. Assuming that some of these pets live till a later time which is likely. Any pet seperating from its owner should have a tag put on it with the owners name and claim number. At a later time The pets can be rounded up and returned to any owner that claims them. Or the pets can be caged even. Very cheap, quick and easy to impliment if it part of disater planning.
You forgot that it will be the House's job to pork up the initial relief bill.
Very shocked! Bet a lot of them head back to LA too!
Did she actually say this or it was reported? I could see someone saying they hadn't had a hot meal in 3 days.
D'oh! Why didn't I think of that? You've just solved the NOL evacuation plan for the future, whenever Democrats are in charge:
Just have the President declare, by executive order, a special election, with the polls located on higher ground. Them buses will be workin overtime. Even the cemetaries will be evacuated.
al says they should have taken food and water.
'law enforcement didn't take care of it that early.'
'neglect'.
entire parishes not getting ANY help. Al says ill prepared. this admin, telecom, security, not there. '
The Governor needs to be recalled. She is completely useless. Does she even have advisors???
