Please tell me you're not so ignorant as to believe that this bunch of vermin are all that's living in New Orleans. No doubt you have such vermin living in your city (or the city nearest you) too, and if disaster strikes, they'll be roaming YOUR streets. For the record, I lived in New Orleans for over 15 years off and on during my husband's USCG career. I also have family who, until this weekend, lived there--and will live there again. MANY good freepers are New Orleanians--so please don't start saying that everyone from New Orleans is a rioting, out of control looter.
I saw a clip of the super dome and the folk out there, STILL in the thousands....WHAT GIVES? I will not pardon the shooter, but those folks must be awful tired, hungry, anxious and desperate to get the heck outta there. I think the governor or mayor or SOMEONE with big credentials needs to make an appearance to these folks in person and calm them down. All human beings need reassurance at one time or another! They don't know what is going on right now with the evacuation plans. They didn't see the President speak or probably haven't heard a word from anyone else but those who are chartering them away in buses! HOW awful to be in their shoes right now. Now with all that said, looters and those shooting at their rescuers need to be apprehended immediately! Lifting prayers for those folks who are still waiting to be rescued!
I wouldn't say that everyone left in New Orleans are rioting, out of control looters. However, having worked in the wireless telecom industry for about 18 years during which I traveled to and worked in 49 states in such lovely places as New Orleans, South Chicago, Gary, IN, South Central LA, and 16 countries such as Nicaraugua and Peru. Never, in all my travels, have I ever heard as much automatic gunfire as I heard in the summer and fall of 1996 in New Orleans while working on a Bellsouth Mobility project.
Simply put: You loot, we shoot. End the mob mentality by dropping the thugs with weapons. Instantly the others will stop thinking like a mob and start thinking like individuals worring about their own health and safety.
If you don't stop it now, it will get worse, I assure you. These animals won't stop until New Orleans, or what is left of it, is burned to the ground.
Probably not. If you look at the murder rankings, NO is consistently top ten. My guess is that if you assigned "points" for each year in the top 10 murder list and added them up, over the last 15 years, NO would be number 1.
