Quite the opposite. I've been asking the same question all damn day. "How is it relevant?" I believe it to be irrelevant--because it is.
Now, if they're born in abject poverty and/or their dad isn't around to raise them to be a man and/or their schools are disaster areas and/or their parent(s) are drug users and/or they face a disadvantage because some people look at them and see a criminal and/or their friends are thugs . . . .
If one or more of those things ARE true, it might help to explain criminal behavior. Morality is learned. What happens to the person with no one to teach them?
