Hey Howlin,

The good thing, so to speak, is that the people in NO can't see the MSM reports.

I did hear a CNN reporter earlier who was giving the Lt. Gov heck for saying that these people should have gotten out.

In a sense, she said, that's true, but what was your state's plan to get them out ahead of a hurricane...the ones that had no way to get out.

She also mentioned that the Feds had given huge amounts of money to cities to develop evacuation plans and emergency plans in case of a terror attack, and she wondered why NO is so ill-prepared. She was laying the blame on local government, mostly at the State Level.

P.S. Living in a place where we have hurricanes and where the possibility of escape routes being needed might happen, we have Evacuation Rt. signs all over the city.

I read the other day that people (tourists and those unfamiliar with the city) didn't know how to find their way in NO. In a city prone to flooding, you would have thought they'd also have the Evac Rt. signs clearly posted (our Evac signs are posted on roads that will probably not flood, since our county is very prone to storm surge too, and many places would be cut off if that happened.) I'm assuming that's part of our HD plan too.

FYI..I just saw Harry Connick on MSNBC..I thin it was a replay from earlier, saying that if he was poor, like these folks and lived in NO, by gosh, he'd probably go out and steal a plasma TV himself..

Back in a few.. I have to go throw his CDs in the trash..
