There was some poor woman on Fox (I think) earlier who had lost everything and was talking about her job she had to get back to afterward. It's so sad. There ARE NO jobs, no businesses, commerce, homes, facilities, etc. There also won't be for some time.
Nobody is even considering many of the logistical problems this disaster has caused. There was undelivered mail at the regional distribution center. That effects far more than greater New Orleans.
People also have no way of paying their bills even assuming they are spending it all on hotel bills. Do businesses re-open without the residents back to act as consumers and future looters?
What was the disaster recovery plan for big companies located in New Orleans, like Freeport McMoran and ChevronTexaco? Their workers aren't coming to work but the companies still have operations that must be maintained outside the city.
Does the power company spend any time restoring power to homes that might well be bulldozed?
I don't know the answer to any of these things, but this thing is much bigger than just New Orleans or the Gulf Coast extending to Mobile.
And has anyone heard from blam?
