Just saw the first article (German magazine) that directly blames the N.O. fiasco to Bush. Unbelievable!!!!

August 31, 2005

FORMER CLINTON ADVISOR

"No One Can Say they Didn't See it Coming"

By Sidney Blumenthal

In 2001, FEMA warned that a hurricane striking New Orleans was one of the three most likely disasters in the U.S. But the Bush administration cut New Orleans flood control funding by 44 percent to pay for the Iraq war.

Biblical in its uncontrolled rage and scope, Hurricane Katrina has left millions of Americans to scavenge for food and shelter and hundreds to thousands reportedly dead. With its main levee broken, the evacuated city of New Orleans has become part of the Gulf of Mexico. But the damage wrought by the hurricane may not entirely be the result of an act of nature.

Just curious. Besides Russia and Venezuela. Has anyone else offered to send help to LA? I understand from FOX that donations are not coming in to the Red cross, etc....

How much of the apathy is due to the looting?

The first words from the Clintoons, in the mouth of none other than Sid Vicious. Sid has done their dirty work for many years.

Seems to me that decades of local Democrat government should have also seen this coming.

What did these locals do, sat on their butt and complained.

It also seems like to me that the local New Orleans government has the responsibility to build dikes and levees.

Why should an above amount of my taxes be siphoned away from my area to do projects for those who should have enough sense to do those things for themselves.

Grrrrr.... that tops yesterday's news that according to the Germans, it America deserved Katrina because Bush didn't sign Kyoto. It makes me so mad....

When a tsunami hits SE Asia, it's a tragedy. But when the Gulf Coast of the U.S. is wiped out, probably thousands of people are dead and will die in the coming days, and a priceless city, with its culture, heritage and history is destroyed, well, you got it coming, America. /sarc

This is exactly the kind of spin I was expecting. And a FEMA report from 2001 means that they can blame Bush for months. Blame the war in Iraq for all of it.

I expect to see headlines on this in all the major papers before the end of the week. The script is already written on this one.

We'll be seeing articles on this stuff for months, I bet...

I would wager that the above is NOT the whole story. More like--unnecessary funding was cut & the politicos in LA chose not to put any money toward flood control.

Anyway, that's what I hope happened.

To Hell with these insidious Clinton people blaming Bush! What did the Clinton Administration do in eight years to solve New Orleans' flood problem?

Sidney the Snake pens,

>"No One Can Say they Didn't See it Coming"<

But even so, my boss, the Sinkmeister, played in the Oval Orifice with Monica, instead of making New Orleans safe.
