You are getting hungry and your family is too. You kick down the door and take bread, chips, sandwhich meat, jerky, pop, wate etc. Are you a looter? Technically yes. Are you a thief. Probably not. Once the store is broken wide open so anyone can take anything, the likelihood of anyone who needs emergency goods from the store actually receiving them drops to practically nil. Much better would be for an armed person in uniform to take control of the store and have someone hand out goods to people in need who seek them in orderly fashion. Otherwise free-for-alls will lead to chaos.

What I watched today was a guy with a bettering ram breaking down a jewelry store door and when that failed they got a tractor with a scooper thing and used it.... they looted the gap in the Quarter and then set fire to the building and harassed the firemen trying to put the fire out...
