Glad you're starting to hear from your family.
I've got several families arriving tomorrow. Found my Slidell relatives and even my stubborn uncles were coaxed into evacuating at the last minute. They're all in Texas and perhaps three of those families might come here too. Not too many beds but lots of floor and air mattresses.
Found the location of my mom - she's in the hospital in Metairie. By the time I found out it was too late to have my call transferred to her room (yep, phones are working in Metairie - just no water the operator said). Will call her first thing in the am.
Only other relatives missing are my brother and sister and I know for a fact they evacuated - just don't know to where yet.
You have the right stuff, and the right attitude. Thanks. You cheer me up.
Hopefully Sheriff Harry Lee( http://www.jpso.com/lee.htm ) keeps things under control like he normally does. Let me know if you hear anything about Slidell. I've only seen slight mentions of "devastation" and then silence. Our Slidell family here is amazingly composed although the children have cried when watching TV wondering what happened to their home. We remind them that they're safe, alive, and loved...and that is more important than "stuff".
AM so happy to hear your good news....More answered prayers.
