Yes, I saw a man wearing very short shorts manning the phone and computers at a command station. Felt very sorry for him.
Speechless.....
Okay.
But I did see that girl on Fox -- the reporter; she surely was convinced they were prisoners.
He's in a position to know, being a reporter himself, and his post included material from a broadcast report on FOX. You're getting punchy and needlessly belligerent. Get some sleep.
do you have a link for that blog
***ou kick down the door and take bread, chips, sandwhich meat, jerky, pop, wate etc. Are you a looter? Technically yes. Are you a thief. Probably not.
Now if you go down to the diamond shop and steal you some jewely, that is a different story***
The problem is that once you allow one kind, it gets out of hand to the other... Basic human nature.
You're right that many care, but he's responding to a sentiment that is real on the forum.
That was another clue... remember the guy that was trying to dip water out of the gutters when Jeff Goldblum was doing his report tonight in the quarter -- Jeff tried to explain to the guy it was nasty and wait a minute and he'd give him some real water...
G'night.
Do you have a link for that blog?
Be on the lookout for any school buses towing u-haul trailers.
Okay,
I hope I don't get banned, but I will tell it like it is.
New Orleans was a CESSPOOL before this hurricane arrived.
I feel really sorry for the decent people living there (and there are many, many) but this town, several years ago, made it to number one on the list of the most violent cities in the nation (and it is a small city compared to others on the list).
Like I said earlier, I lived in Louisiana and some of the best people in the world live there. Still have family members and lots of friends there.
But my several years spent living in that state taught me something -- they have the MOST corrupt, deceitful, and crooked politicians I have ever experienced in that state.
Heck, I used to hang out with some of them MANY years ago.
And it just does not surprise me that their corrupt elected leaders would let them down when push comes to shove.
Hopefully, some elected officials' heads will roll after this.
But I seriously doubt it.
My brother-in-law died a few weeks ago and he lived in Chalmette, a few blocks from the levee. We are tracking his kid's and grandkids now, they evacuated. I sent some money to them.
My late brother-in-law didn't watch the news -- he got his news from the union NEWSPAPER. Unions are GOD there.
He thought Bill Clinton was GOD and Bush was the devil.
He was a good guy, basically, but I learned a long time ago not to talk politics with him, he was brainwashed, as is many of his family now.
That pretty much sums it up with most of the people I knew in my several years living there.
I am still praying for everybody there, no matter what politics.
But when it comes time to ask of your local government what you have given (taxes) over the years, I am afraid these people are in serious trouble.
It WILL get worse.
I wouldn't depend on any local or federal government to take care of me in need.
Give me a gun, ammo (bow and arrow, or even a spear), some woods or water with some fish, a deer, squirrel or anything else eatable, and I'll take care of myself and mine. And believe me, a lot of folks in the New Orleans area have the same mindset.
Of course, if you choose to live in a big city your choices are limited.
But there really is some good fishing there, and before I'd steal other people's stuff (looting) I'd have myself a good fish fry.
GOD help the decent people there, but the majority of SHEEP are going to be in trouble.
Whoa, I sure missed those posts.
The difference between leadership in Texas and Louisiana. Those people should try to stay in Texas.
Holy heck. The poor cops, doing the best they can in absolutely impossible situations. I would like to think it was just a few bad apples that looted, themselves.
yeah...http://www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor/
They have a webcam link also from their "Command Post"
in a building in downtown NO.
Good reporting.
Yep, I'm happy too (although worried about mom). Life and family are so precious.
This CNN reporter is a bit naive. These people were DESPERATE, they would do anything to survive. He acknowledges that to a degree, but I don't think that he fathoms how much sleep deprivation can change a person's decision making ability and personality. Add in hunger and fear, and rationality often runs low.
