"Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time."
That paragraph continues: "Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore." The poster doesn't mean there are thousands of bodies in trees, he means thousands of bodies have been discovered "throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis."
Among them, some hanging in trees. Others found drowned in their homes, others washing up on the beach.
Does any of that seem far-fetched after one of the most massive hurricanes in U.S. history?
It's partly the constuction of this sentence that has everyone in a tizzy:
"They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time."
It doesn't mean there are 30 bodies in each tree. There are just bodies hanging in trees and scores of bodies are being gathered up from many many trees. And that's the very first category probably. Clear out the trees and get the bodies collected on the ground first for the next step in the weeks long process of counting. But when a body comes out of a tree and is staged with others on the ground, it may not be an officially tallied death yet.
So I don't think anyone is shorting the count from what this source says he saw.
You may want to see post 753. Corroboration of the original post, sadly seems to be coming in.
As for the media coverage: I have been on Fox (I refuse to watch Commie News Net or PMSNBC). What I have seen is Supersome, Bourbon St., a chunk of Gulfsport, and dammed little else.
Besides not actually being out in the remoter sites where a lot of human misery is going on, the media may perhaps be self censoring the worst reports. Still, some outlets are hinting at massive loss of life - The Houston Chron story on the post I linked you to mentioned "hundreds" of people, but only gave details about the apartment building with 30 dead in it. I suspect other details will emerge.
The statement that the original post was a lie is a pretty serious accusation - a banning offense for posting BS. It also seems that, sadly, the scenario described in the original post is accurate enough. I wish it were'nt. But I trust MFH, that poster has not lied that I know of in the last 5 years I have known them.
