I am VERY skeptical of this report. Newspeople have been in those areas in mass and driving about. They are not reporting of thousands of bodies. Somebody has an exageration problem.

agreed....it happens all the time. someone stumbles upon a group of people who were dumb enough to stay on the coast...does some quick math on how many buildings are on the coast and assumes thousands....in reality...only a very few actually stay on the coast with this much warning.

Something proportionate to the numbers who did not leave New Orleans. The advantage was that for the people in Mississippi, that safety lay just a few miles inland.

Well, Biloxi officials have stated that only about 1/3 of that town evacuated. So, if they are 100% low, that still means there were several thousand people in town when it rolled through. And ALL of Biloxi is coastal.
