If I am not mistaken, the President waits for the Governors to invite him to view the damage WHEN APPROPRIATE. But of course, Jack Cafferty knows nothing of being appropriate.
Bingo
Pardon my stupidity, but who is Jack Cafferty?
Who in hell is Jack Cafferty?
I voted for Bush both times and I've supported him throughout his presidency, but I just think there has been a HUGE breakdown of leadership in this whole ordeal from the president all the way down to the mayor. IMO, this is one of the FEW times big government should have been sitting on the ready. The Nat. Guard or military should have been ready to be sent in on Monday as soon as the storm had moved through. Sandbags and whatever were necessary to fortify the levees should have been prepared and sitting READY nearby for easy retrieval. The federal gov't should have funds allocated BEFORE the storm to spend evacuating those who are poor and had not other means of getting out. What is the cost of trains, planes and busses in comparison to what it happening now?! I wish all the innocent people who wanted to get out were out and all the lawless thugs were the only ones left there. Bush should have ended his vacation IMMEDIATELY and should have addressed the nation immediately. Instead of promising to throw wads of money at the problem (and we all know it will never be spent on those who truly need it), when he gave his speech he should have laid out a specific plan of what is going on, when help will arrive, etc. I don't understand why TONS of supplies weren't immediately dropped in places where they are needed. How can we be there immediately when disaster strikes in a foreign country but do such a crappy job taking care of our own? I'm so frustrated and disgusted. Thank GOD I don't live there.
