but, why not move in some old Navy ships or cruise ships and use as floating evacuation centers??? they have kitchens, medical facilities, rooms, etc... Excellent idea if they could get them in. I wondered why they didn't use tour and school buses to get folks out.

Excellent idea if they could get them in. I wondered why they didn't use tour and school buses to get folks out.I think the problem is that the roadways are impassible. There is no way for busses etc to go anywhere. IMO

I asked about that yesterday... also trains and or the riverboats -- that they must have sent North out of the path of the storm.
