I just watched when they pulled that one black man out of his attic in slow motion from off my Tivo system again and again. (they are showing it on CNN over and over.) If one cannot watch it in slow motion you miss a lot of the detail.

The boat is going by the house and you can see a round silver thing flashing right under the edge of the roof. The man was only able to stick his hand through a hole near the edge of the roof and flash the silver thing to get the rescuers attention that was in the boat trolling by his home. They show rescuers hacking him out from the roof top. You can see his hand fly up through the hole (like he was bobbing up and down in the water) while the rescuer is trying to hack through the roof.

Finally they make a big enough hole and the man only had 12" inches or less of head room in the attic the rest of it was filled up with water. He must have been hanging on to the rafters in his attic to stay above water. He slips once from the grip of the rescuers and goes back under. They are able to grab a hold of him again and you can clearly see the fear in his eyes. One rescuer says, "I got him he's not going to going anywhere". The man is making whimpering sounds as they are finally able to pull him out completely. The man is dazed and they set him down in the boat. One rescuer pats the man on his shoulder and says, "Feel Better, are you alright?" - The man reaches his hand out to one rescuer and shakes his rescuers hand and you see the dazed look come off the man face and a slight smile come through on his face and his arm is shaking some. - You don't see all this when it running at normal speed as the camera is jolting around so much. The man's left eye looks to be swollen as if he smacked his eye against a rafter while he was trying to keep his head above water.

It is truly amazing to watch it in slow motion - it is like he is being "born" again.

I hope the man survived - it looked like he had heart surgery at one time as I thought I could see a scar right down the middle of his chest were they must have cracked his chest open for heart surgery in the past.

The people who are rescuing these survivors are risking their own life's to save others - may god bless them all.

I'm going to watch it closer the next time they run it, but I know which one you are talking about it.

One thing I keep wondering is how many more of them are in those attics.
