by lake water she means ponchatrain.

this partisan ranting and raving against la/nola officials is getting tiresome and has to provide great laughs for the other side.

maybe this thread can stay on topic.

It's not partisan; it's truthful.

and has to provide great laughs for the other side

I didn't realize there was an "other side" in a disaster.

This is way beyond politics. They need all the support they can get.

There is a link up top to a discussion thread started for blame casting, Monday morning quarterbacking, anathemas against the Democrats, and whatnot.

Thanks for the new thread, NN.

Yeah, that was my take - 'lake water' as opposed to 'river water.' That is a very meaningful distinction. If it was the latter it would mean it is going to get a LOT higher, and a LOT faster. If there were a river breach, no one would be talking about 3000 lb. sandbags. They'd be talking about fleeing for their lives.

It's not so much about the partisan politics. It's about watching your state reap the fruits of years of corruption and incompetence. We had the opportunity to elect someone who was able to think on his feet, he had a plan of action because it was discussed in a political debate. Instead people couldn't see past their own prejudices and partisan politics. My very liberal sister now gets it. These pols could bus the voters to the polls but they couldn't bother to bus them out to save their lives.

I think she meant that lake water is better than seawater. Seawater would tend to sterilize the earth roundabout.
