The river is also roughly 200 feet deep in NO. So, if it isn't the river flooding into the city as others have said quite convincingly, where is all the water coming from? Physics seems to indicate it isn't the Lake anymore. What stresses were put on the levee during the storm? Enough to weaken it or erode it down? Just wondering here. Only been to NO twice. I do not want to incite any sort of panic and am just wondering for those who are more familiar with the area, what are their thoughts on the flooding.
