No way. The hurricane is barely over let alone the drainage from up river. Couldn't be. I saw that river two nites ago flying in and it was low! Very low. It would take weeks to get the level up.

Question. What about all the rain that fell in the Ohio River valley today(B/C of Katrina) that will eventually drain into the Mississippi River? The River will be up possibly flood stage in areas. All that water will eventually drain down the river into the NO area, Right? I mean that will take days, but worsen the situation?

That's probably due to the continuing drought in the Upper Plains that have really lowered the Missouri River.
