The water is about 4 feet above sea level. The pic of the water next to the superdome is about 2 feet in elevation. If the street pic is Canal Street, that is at sea level. Something is wrong. The Mississippi must be pouring into the main NO bowl, that takes in most of the town, and Metaire (sp) to boot. I wonder how fast the water is moving?
This has been driving me nuts as well. Seems like so much water so quickly. I understand they don't know where all the breeches are. Could somebody here explain to me if it's possible the river levy has been compromised from underneath... maybe just some sort of saturation?
