sincere yikes
I kinda doubt this presser would be talking about evacuating the city w/o some definitive information regarding the stability of the levees.
New thread with updated links and info.
Water problems are cropping up.
Yes, it was the governor; I was wrong about that the other day, too..........LOL.
Thank you very much for listing the charities!
Sorry, NN. I think I broke the last thread...
Why didn't they evacuate BEFORE the hurricane?
Fox: "Hear that hissing sound? That may be a gas leak..." Yikes.
Bump
I just listened to that news conference by the LA Governor and it is beyond my comprehension that they really didn't, and seemingly still don't have a plan for this scenario.
You broke the whole internet!
Thanks, NautiNurse, for this thread. It's been more informative than some of the wire services. Is there a freeper (Non Red Cross way) of helping these people?
"Just lake water" is a good thing, because that means it's not river water. If the river breaks into the city, it's all over.
I caught that too. The "Katie Holms" syndrome, apparently.
I feel sorry for Landrieu,,New Orleans is her heart, her family is there, her father was Mayor. She looks shell shocked.
The Gov is dumb I do believe. Bobby Jindal should have been Gov and I do think Mike Foster would have stepped up to the plate here.
But La is a poor state, democratic for the most part and we had Huey Long if you remember. Long history of poor government.
And I don't think the Gov wants to say that New Orleans is full of toxic chems, waste, bacteria and cess filled water at this point. I mean who would.
in before the ZOT!
OMG< the mayor is calling for a DAY OF PRAYER again.........she is a loon.
Good grief. She gets worse by the moment. She's approaching this like a spectator, not a leader. Heck, we've all been praying.
That, brivette, will surely be in the running for 'Understatement of the Millenium'
