The looters you see are Gov Blanko and Mary Landruei's voter base - I kid you not.

and they will be re-elected by promising more loot.

"You will see Mogadishu in the US later this week!" Good point. It reminded me of what happened with the "free" food giveaway during the Hearst kidnapping. I hope they can maintain order when the food shipments are delivered.

Lousiana National Guard as of this point in time, at least, is NOT dealing with looters. They are solely concentrating on evacuating people that are stranded, or working to get people out of the Superdome.
But, if incidents of looting rise, or, in some cases, looters are shooting back at police as just reported on WWL TV, then that policy might have to change.

It's not a race thing, it's a class (or lack thereof) thing.

The "law of the jungle" must not be allowed to prevail, I don't care if it's diapers or beer. Nothing taken without some sort of accountability. I've been involved in post-hurricane cleanups in small towns in law enforcement and the leading authority (Sheriffs) gave the order that looters will be shot on sight--that was no joke. As a result, looting was almost non-existant. BTW, we were paired up w/NG soldiers locked and loaded, no pretend stuff.
Accountability or we are all reduced to animals. No thanks.

Mary Landruei... She is really a shinning star in the Media Whore wing of the Democratic Party. Did you see her chomping at the bit for microphone time at the presser today?

This looting is the reason some people refuse to leave when they are told to evacuate. The looters will do the same thing they are doing to homes that are left vacant.
